Bio | Astrid van Drie
Astrid van Drie (1970, Amsterdam, NL) is a visual artist who lives in Schilde (BE) and works in Schilde and Alkmaar (NL).
Astrid sees her drawing-based practice as a continuous process of unfolding art making. Her abstract art emerges from playful experimentation. She curiously constructs diverse materials, shapes, and colours into images, small three-dimensional works, and large-scale drawings without a preconceived plan. Operating at the intersection of opposites, she brings harmony to seemingly chaotic scenes. Her work is bold, vibrant, and has a strong sense of presence.
Bio | Danielle van Drie
Danielle van Drie (1974, Amsterdam, NL) is a visual artist who works in her studio in Alkmaar (NL). Her work is expressive, colourful, and bold. She combines various drawing and painting materials in layers on different surfaces, from small to large.
She creates her abstract work from the inside out: intuitively and experimentally. A playful process that begins with a random stroke to which she responds, and then responds again, and again. From the unknown, a balanced image unfolds through chaos.
